The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services release the final rules for fiscal year 2013 regarding inpatient hospital services and long-term care hospitals as a part of new changes in Medicare provider rates. These changes entailed revisions to the Medicare hospital inpatient prospective payment systems (PPS) for operating and capital-related costs of acute care hospitals and payment policies/annual payment rates for the Medicare prospective payment system (PPS) for inpatient hospital services provided by long-term care hospitals.
