Large group plans generally provide health coverage to over 100 members of the same group such as a company, association or union.
Limited Medical Plans
Insurance plans that provide partial coverage for part-time workers who often cannot afford full insurance - often referred to as 'mini med' plans.
Limited Service Hospital
Hospitals that offer a limited range of services - most often rural hospitals.
Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH)
Defined by Medicare as hospitals with a length of stay that averages greater than 25 days. They are paid on a separate payment system from other hospitals.
Long-Term Care (LTC)
Health care services required for an extended period of time by individuals unable to fully execute activities of daily living; it can be provided by a variety of agencies in outpatient settings as well as on an inpatient basis.
