Critical Access Hospital (CAH)

Created to provide medical care in areas where there is limited access to providers. These hospitals and care facilities receive payment considerations from Medicare.

Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)

A medical code set by the American Medical Association, which describes medical, surgical and diagnostic services. The set is to be communicated among physicians, coders, patients and other relevant parties.

Custodial Care

Health care services not related to medical necessity, such as assistance with bathing, eating, and walking.

Employee Assistance Program

Benefit offered to employees that provides short term counseling and advice regarding personal or health problems but does not provide health care.
